
Bierocks recipe with pizza dough is an easy recipe to make at home with little effort and love.
Fluffy pockets of yeast dough called “Cheesy Bierocks” are stuffed with seasoned meat, onions, cabbage, and loads of cheese.
Bierocks are essentially yeast bread rolls that are stuffed with seasoned meat, cabbage, and onion. In contrast to Nebraska’s Runza, which is more frequently rectangular, they are typically circular in Kansas.
INGREDIENTS:
- 1 pound Ground Beef
- 4 cups Cabbage shredded
- 1 Small Onion diced
- 1 Tab Olive Oil
- 1/2 tea Black Pepper
- Salt to taste 1-2 teaspoons
- 1 package of Frozen Rhodes Yeast Rolls will use about 18
- Flour for dusting surface
- 1 cup of scalded milk
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter
- 2 1/2 teaspoons yeast
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 egg
HOW TO MAKE BIEROCKS RECIPE WITH PIZZA DOUGH
STEP 1
Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium heat.

STEP 2
Saute the onions in the oil until just soft.

STEP 3
Add in the ground beef and cook until just cooked through.

STEP 4
Drain the meat, if desired, then season with salt and pepper, turn off the heat, and stir in the cabbage.

STEP 5
Blanch the milk in a measuring cup using the microwave or in a small saucepan on the stove. Make sure it doesn’t boil. You just need to warm up.

Add the sugar and butter to the hot milk and stir. Once the sugar has dissolved and the butter has melted, let it cool until it is hot.

STEP 7
Sprinkle the top with the yeast and allow it to soften for about 1 minute.

STEP 8
Add the yeast mixture, salt, and egg to the bowl of your stand mixer with the hook attachment and gradually add the flour until it forms a smooth dough.

STEP 9
Continue to knead with the dough hook attachment for about 5 minutes or until the dough is elastic and smooth.

STEP 10
Remove the dough from the bowl and add it to another bowl, clean and oil it, and cover it with saran wrap or a clean towel.

STEP 11
Let’s rise for 1 hour.

STEP 12
While it rises, prepare the filling and preheat the oven to 400F.

STEP 13
Bake the bierocks for about 25-30 minutes, until the top is lightly browned.

STEP 14
Turn the pan 180 degrees halfway through.
