STEP 6
Add the onions and bell peppers, stir to combine then add the ground beef to the bowl, I find using my clean hands to mix everything together is easiest.

STEP 7
Spoon the mixture into a 9×5 loaf pan to form an even loaf. Invert the pan and tap the bottom of the pan several times so the meatloaf comes out onto the prepared baking sheet.

STEP 8
If you’re having trouble getting it out of the pan, try running a butter knife around the edges. Alternatively, you can form a large loaf about 9×5 with your hands, but it may fall apart a bit as it cooks.

STEP 9
Bake for 30 minutes.
STEP 10
While the meatloaf is baking, make the glaze by adding the ketchup, brown sugar, and mustard to a small bowl and stirring until combined.

STEP 11
After 30 minutes, glaze the meatloaf with the tomato sauce mixture then bake an additional 20–30 minutes until the internal temperature reaches at least 165°F and the glaze has a baked appearance.

STEP 12
Let it cool for about 10 minutes before cutting.
