sugar-free jerky recipe One of my favorite foods is jerky. However, it can be difficult to get commercial beef jerky that isn’t made with soy sauce and sugar.
The majority of brands of beef jerky have a substantial quantity of sodium and carbohydrates per serving. Not only is this homemade beef jerky more delicious than store-bought varieties. Additionally, soy sauce and sugar are omitted from the recipe.
INGREDIENTS
- 1.5 lbs. skirt steak (or flank steak)
- 1 tablespoon coarse kosher salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon chili powder
PREPARATION OF MAKING A SUGAR-FREE JERKY RECIPE
1ST STEP
- Set oven to 225 degrees Fahrenheit. Using parchment paper, line two sizable baking sheets.

2ND STEP
- The steak should be unfolded and set on a cutting board.

3RD STEP
- Cut the flesh into 2-inch-wide strips with a sharp knife, cutting crosswise and against the grain to cut through the fine, tough fibers visible in the steak.

4TH STEP
- If the strips are thicker than 1/8 inch, cut them into two thinner strips of the same thickness. You want the strips to be as thin as possible. It’s not difficult to do this, but if you want to make it even simpler, freeze the pork strips for 20 minutes before slicing them into thinner pieces.

5TH STEP
- To make the strips thinner or thicker, crush them with a meat masher.

6TH STEP
- The spices should be added to a big bowl with the beef strips, and the mixture should be thoroughly mixed with your hands.

7TH STEP
- On the two baking sheets, arrange the pork strips in a single layer.

8TH STEP
- The meat should be browned and dry after three hours of baking, with the oven sheets being rotated halfway through. Transfer to a cooling rack that is mounted on a sheet pan or foil (to catch any drippings). Let cool and dry for about an hour before enjoying. Refrigerate leftovers—they’re delicious right out of the fridge.
