Everyone loves them in our house.
STEP 1 To make the dough, cream together the sugar and butter. Add the eggs, vanilla, and salt.
STEP 2 Mix the flour and baking powder by hand. Knead the dough until smooth and workable.

STEP 4 To make the filling: cut the figs, the orange, and the apple into small pieces. (
STEP 5 Grind figs, raisins, oranges, and apples.
STEP 6 Spices and chopped nuts are added to the ground fig mixture..

STEP 7 Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C)
STEP 8 Roll out a little dough.
STEP 9 Wrap the dough over the mixture, sealing the figs within the dough.

STEP 10 Trim to the desired length, using a diagonal cut..
STEP 11 Bake on an ungreased baking sheet for 10–15 minutes.
